"Hi, Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening. Welcome. Table for how many?" These are the usual greetings that we say when we're at work. Meeting a lot people. Serving a lot of guests, especially during this period. Tiring.Yes. But it's f&b industry, it's definitely NOT an easy job.
Did I just mention meeting a lot of people? Oh yeah. From all walks of life. Different races. Different cultures. Different personalities and characters. But the bottom line is they're out there to talk. Over a cup of coffee.
Different scenarios in every table. Table 1, talking about business. Table 2, talking about love life. Table 4, having a birthday celebration. Table 7, sharing about failed relationship. Table 9, talking about daughter's failed subject in school. Table 10, a group of elderly people enjoying the sunset of their lives and table 14 having a bible sharing. Over a cup of coffee.
These situations remind me that all of us has his/her own story and we're not walking alone. Talking over a cup of coffee is not merely drinking a cup of cappuccino or latte. It's more than that. It helps us to go through life by sharing our sentiments to our family and friends and being helped in return. It's all about celebrating our lives with them, all our successes and joys. Making up lost times. Catching up and picking up where you left off. Over a cup of coffee.
You might say, "why you're eavesdropping?" Nope. I'm not. It's just that I'm the one serving you and you just can't stop talking to your colleague or you just talk loudly (and clearly..) :)
On a serious note, these simple observations remind me that inspite of our busy schedules, we should have enough time to unwind, to relax and to meet our friends and loved ones. Over a cup of coffee.. Enjoy the life.. :)
